News on the next Dark Child title

It’s a rainy afternoon here in Sydney. Early autumn, and after a very hot summer, our rains have arrived in full force. Yes, we wanted rain, but as I listen to my gutters overflow I wonder if we needed quite this much…

It’s perfect weather though for catching up on long overdue tasks like posting an update on book news. I do apologise to some of my commenters on the last post, as they waited quite a while for a reply. The blog page here hasn’t been completely reliable in sending me messages when I have comments pending so I didn’t realise they were banking up. Anyway, to the promised update!

As you may have already gathered, 2016 unfortunately was a year of delays to the Dark Child series that were beyond my control, but I’m delighted to share the fact that my publisher has now requested a further three books set in the Dark Child world. The first of these is well underway and (I’m very hopeful) to be released in the second half of 2017. As soon as I have a confirmed release date I’ll share it here.

There’s lots in store in the next book, and I’m enjoying revisiting the characters you already know so well from the first three books, as well as delving into the motivations of new ones. And it doesn’t hurt to have a few pictures handy to inspire me. You may like to take a look at my Pinterest inspiration albums for new characters Iakov and Pyotr if you haven’t already done so.

And I may even post a snippet or two from my work-in-progress in the coming months. Feel free to tell me in the comments who you’re most impatient for news of…
